Open funding metadata - funder questionnaire

This survey is conducted by the Working Group on Funding Metadata of the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information.

The survey aims to map research funders’ priorities, needs and current levels of engagement with open funding metadata, and identify key barriers and enabling factors.

Open funding metadata refers to structured, open research information on funding and grants, including the funder’s name or identifier, grant identifiers, and additional details such as amount, beneficiaries, and funding programmes (read more).

In particular, the survey seeks to understand leadership support, financial considerations, practical implementation challenges, and the use of persistent identifiers (PIDs).

Unless otherwise stated, questions should be answered from the perspective of your organization's overall approach to sharing funding information openly, rather than a specific implementation route.

The insights gathered will help the Working Group better understand the needs of the funder community and inform future support initiatives.

The survey takes approximately 10–12 minutes to complete.
