GeeksList - User Survey

Hello and thank you for considering filling out this survey.

Your feedback can help shape GeeksList, we are thankful for all the insight your answers will provide to us. This survey will only take a few minutes out of your day and all questions are optional.

Before we start, you don't have to know what "GeeksList" is, the goal of this survey is to validate the assumptions we made. This is to ensure that we do not develop a solution no one actually needs, so your feedback helps us see where we are spot on, and where we will need to dig deeper and get back to the drawing board.

The following questions are fully optional and just help us to identify the groups interested in the service

Definitions:

TV Series ("Series") refers to a serialized audiovisual production, often on online services ("streaming services").

Geek refers to a sub-culture attributed to persons that have a specialized interest in a hobby. For example, a movie Geek would watch a lot of movies, be an expert on a subset of movie culture like a genre or a director, or share this hobby through a like-minded community.

In this survey, "Geek" will refer to (TV-)Show Geeks

A watchlist is a list of shows you are planning to watch, either because you discovered it somewhere or got it recommended. You may also have multiple watchlists. Watchlists do not need to be physical, you can also have a mental list of shows you are generally interested in watching at some point in your free time.

Do you talk to others about watching a (new) show together? Do you regularly talk about the newest show coming out and try to be up to date so you can discuss it with them?

In this last section we discuss the worth of a service that would help you with the previous questions.

A service that will help you to keep track of shows that you watched, are watching or planning to watch. One that allows you to organize them into your own list(s), and lets you share lists with others. Giving you the ability to recommend shows to others that you discovered, are watching or already finished. With tools to target specific friends, or group of friends that you can customize (think all the horror or romance fans in your life for example).

Out of following pricing models, pick one:

  1. The Service should charge one price, and include everything, without Advertisement or selling out user data
  2. The basic Service should be free, with subscription add-ons for convenience features (like seeing what streaming service has a show)
  3. The entire Service should be free and paid for with Advertisements and by selling my data

If this service were only accessible through a subscription fee, would you be concerned about your friends not signing up to it, even if you were to recommend it to them?

Thank you so much for your time and the answers you provided!
